Portrait and La Luna news

One of my co-workers asked me to draw a picture of his late father. I scanned in a 1" x 1.5" photo, blew it up, and printed it out on two letter-sized papers.

Using my "light table" (a door with a big glass insert), I mapped out major areas and planes. Then I looked off the photo to do shading and details. And viola! The actual mapping and drawing took about an hour.

The local newspaper short on my largest project.

Snapshots

Please pardon my long absence from blogger. After school was over, I had to take care of lots of grown-up stuff, like moving and looking for a job to support my art. So far I've only had a nibble and an escape; no bass yet. Still, I'm going to keep my eyes open.

These are some portrait shots done for my husband's and mine Facebook pages. I just used Photoshop brushes on mine. For Matt, I adjusted levels and filled in some weak areas with black to create a more stylized photo.

Will try to post more soon, so stay tuned!
